Through interactive discussion of case studies this session will provide useful guidance on how researchers and medical writers can build data sharing into their research workflow.  The session will begin by introducing the basic concepts of data sharing and situate it in the landscape of open science, before moving on to some of the practical questions that researchers and writers face when looking to make their research data openly available. Through looking at a range of real life case studies, some of the common questions and pitfalls will be discussed along with clear best practice guidance. The session will be interactive with polls, voting and the opportunity to ask questions.
